Is the law of attraction always working, or only working every now and then when you want it to? When asked, most people will answer that of course the law of attraction isn’t only working when you want it to, but if you look at their lives, they might just live as if it did.

It is easy for us to look at other people and see what they are doing wrong when it comes to the law of attraction, but much harder to take the same look at ourselves. One thing that is repeated over and over again in almost all the material dealing with the law of attraction is the importance of taking responsibility.

We accept this concept in theory, and we might even be able to look at our past and admit to attracting to us the bad stuff that happened. Our problem comes when we are asked to do this in everyday life. It is hard to stop pointing fingers around at other people, blaming them for causing us problems or making us feel bad.

It is hard because we have years of experience with the finger pointing, and a lot of us still have a hard time taking responsibility without feeling that there is something wrong with us or blaming ourselves for the mistakes we made.

As hard as it might be, it is important to take responsibility. The finger pointing and blaming other people only attracts more things to place blame for. As harsh as it may sound, it is never them and always you. Whatever problems you have in your life, you created, and only by doing something different can you create something else.

The first thing you need to do in order to get a better life is to stop pointing to others when something goes wrong or you don’t feel good and start owning up to it. Rather than focusing on what someone else did or didn’t do to you, try to focus on what you can do for someone else.

If it’s been a while since you first heard about the law of attraction and stared implementing it in your life, you might find that you have hit "the slump." "The slump" is my word for that period of time that comes after the first excitement over the discovery of the law of attraction has settled, and you start feeling a little disillusioned
because your millions have not manifested themselves.

If you are anything like me and a lot of other people, when you first started using attraction, you were baffled and exited at how it actually worked. After a while though, it may seem like it got harder to use the law of attraction, or like it somehow stopped working.

It is very common for people to hit "the slump" and give up on using the law of attraction all together. What happens when we get to this point is usually that attraction is not as new and exiting to us anymore, and we don’t dedicate as much time as we used to on the practices that will help us create the life we want. We gradually slip into our old, comfortable habits, and forget that as much as we might like them, they could have a negative effect on our lives.

If this is where you’re at, it is time to do a restart and go back to the basics! When was the last time you made or even looked at a vision board? When was the last time you meditated on money coming your way? As with almost anything else, after the novelty of it all wears off, we tend to not put the same amount of energy and attention to what we want to attract.

I suggest you start your back to basics approach by writing a gratitude list. Looking around you and listing what you are grateful for will steer your mind off negative feelings of discontent (and we all know what they will attract to you).

Here are a few more things you can do to get back on track:

1.Write a new set of goals. You might want different things today than you did when you first started.

2.Make a new vision board. You’re probably so used to the old one that you no longer even really see it.

3. Pay attention to the negative influences you get from the media and the people around you, and change what you focus on.

4. Set of time to meditate on wealth and visualize money coming your way.

5. Study the people you want to be like.

6. Read the books written by the old masters of the law of attraction like Wallace D. Wattles and Napoleon Hill.

These are just a few tips to help you get back on the horse. If you hit “the slump,” don’t waste time on doubt or worries; take action to move forward instead.

Stop looking at what you think is reality, and remind yourself that what you see around you today is the past, not the future.

I received an email a few days ago from my friend Naveen, and I wanted to share it here on the blog. Naveen’s email made me stop and think, and reminded me of some things I already knew, but maybe I hadn’t thought about as much as I should lately.

I hope you enjoy Naveen’s words as much as I did (special thanks to Naveen for giving permission to reprint the email here!);

FROM: NAVEEN TO: JON

(QUOTE)…..I have figured out one important thing about the universe:

Through out my life for the past 25 years, I have been running every day , either it is for work or having food. I mean in my observation, most people are in a hurry, they are thinking that there is not enough, or they might miss out if they dont compete in the race etc.

But, the good part is that, from the past 2 weeks, I have shifted my midset and I do most things in a much more relaxed manner. I left my hurry-going nature. The reason being that WE ATTRACT EVERYTHING IN LIFE. That is how GOD has designed the Universe and has put several UNIVERSAL LAWS in place so that WE CAN RECOGNIZE THEM AND LIVE BY THOSE LAWS.

The whole purpose of creation on earth is ABSOLUTE INFINITE HAPPINESS. You can observe how much love the creator has towards human beings. But the most part of the mistake is in us. We are in a hurry and are rushing. But after watching your video , the secret movie and surfing on the web in general in regards to the patterns of the universe, I figured out that we have been placed on earth to CREATE OUR FUTURE ACCORDING TO THE WAY WE THINK is correct for us. It is exactly correct as they show in the movie “The Secret” saying that THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS and the whole universe works in accordance with our THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS alone

One more thing is that, I started giving GRATITUTDE to the universe for a while and from the day I started doing this, I observed a significant difference in my lifestyle and I am growing and maturing day by day.

To say in general, MONEY is not WEALTH and Universe treats WEALTH as something that we already possess, either it is water, a computer, clothes that we wear etc, and that is exactly correct. Once I started to observe this, I observed a major shift in my mindset and I started to look at things in a different way.

These are just some of the things that i experienced myself once I started following the UNIVERSAL LAWS. (END QUOTE)

I hope you all enjoyed Naveen’s words as much as I did.

Peace and Blessings!

Jon

I get a lot of emails asking for tips on attracting wealth. The 3 best tips I know for attracting wealth are all very simple, but at the same time, they can be difficult to “stick with,” especially in the beginning. Continue reading »

“The Hungry Don’t Get Fed.”

Ever heard that saying? It’s as old as dirt, and I have long since forgotten who said it (anybody out there know? Please email me or leave a comment).

“The hungry don’t get fed” is an ancient principle that is based on the Law of Attraction. It’s another way of saying that a person who is desperate for something will NOT get it–but the person who already has plenty will get more.  Or as I like to say, “the fat get fed, NOT the hungry.” Continue reading »

Just a quick point to ponder today…

I heard a great story this week from one of my coaching clients. She told me about her grandfather’s strange habit of ironing his cash money to keep it looking clean and neat at all times. Continue reading »

A question I often receive is, “how long will it take to manifest _____in my life? This is really impossible to answer because the time it takes for a thing to show up in your life is unpredictable. Some things come quickly–and others take longer and come in a very runabout way over time. But one thing is for certain: what you consistently keep at the center of your attention will be attracted to you.

If what you desire is greater wealth (notice I said, “greater” because as you should know–you already are wealthy), my best tip would be to NOT focus on how wealth is going to come into your life, but just focus on you having it. Continue reading »

Here’s the simplest statement I can make regarding visualizing wealth:Money Pile It works!

Having coached hundreds of  successful “visualizers” and used this technique personally for years, I can attest to the incredible power of “seeing it in order to achieve it.”

But many people need a little help when they begin using visualization techniques, and particularly when they are attempting to visualize wealth. It can be easy to lose concentration or, if your financial situation is quite bad, it can be difficult to even get a clear mental image of wealth. So let’s address a few of the most common issues: Continue reading »

I received an email from a friend in Denmark a few days ago with an outrageously good line in it. He said “I wouldn’t sneak up on life and steal it’s wallet.” First I laughed; then I began to appreciate what a great line this is, but after a while, I began to feel that his  (admittedly funny and original) comment was spreading the wrong message.

The truth is you should sneak up on life and steal it’s wallet–that’s what you are supposed to do!

In fact, life want’s you to “steal it’s wallet.” You don’t even have to sneak up on it! Our Universe is standing there with it’s wallet already out, and it’s trying it’s best to give it to you! Don’t believe me? Let’s have a look at the facts:

We are surrounded by wealth, prosperity, health, joy and abundance of every type. The only “catch” is, most of us have been conditioned to only look for what is wrong, what is bad, what is poor, sick, limited or inadequate.

We are conditioned to look for problems, so what do you suppose we usually find…?

When we begin appreciating the outrageous wealth that already surrounds us, we begin attracting more of it. And yes, what I’m talking about here is gratitude. When we really “wake up” and begin to see how rich and blessed we are, we immediately change the vibration we are in from one of lack and limitation, to one of opulence and abundance. And this changes what we attract.

It took me decades to figure out this one simple rule of nature: “You won’t get more in your life until you appreciate what you already have.” But better late then never right? And I can assure you, I never had true wealth and happiness in my life until I learned to focus on these things and appreciate the good that was already there in front of me the whole time.

Take five minutes out of your busy life right to think about the wealth, joy and abundance you already have. Dig deep, you will find it. And for Pete’s sake, do it right now! Take action in the moment. Don’t delay–do it now!
